Vic Sarian

It was 1989 and Vic Sarian was running a buzzing honey farm and adapting to being a new dad to a baby girl getting ready to go to school. He wanted to relocate to a town known for safety and excellent schools and a community with nature to accommodate his bees! When he traveled north on the I5 through the Santa Clarita Valley and mingled with the locales, he knew that all his dreams were right here. He was mesmerized by the beautiful nature and culture around the valley, and he knew this is where both his family and his family-owned beekeeping business would thrive.
From a young age, Vic spent many hours in his uncle’s bee farms watching how bees operate. He created analogies of how bees resemble human life. When a bee takes off, they fly to new territories and gathers pollen and nectar to bring back home like suitcases full of new excitements; just like humans fly all over the world and fill their minds with new and exciting memories to bring back home and cherish. In 1984, Vic built his first hives and since then, he has expanded his offerings to bring natural and pure honey products such as honey, bee pollen, propolis, and beeswax, to the community. Because of his education and experience with bees, he has successfully relocated hundreds of beehives without harming the hive. Sarian Honey Farm enjoys providing local surrounding communities with fresh local honey. Vic has so much passion for bees and beekeeping that he also has beehives on his second home in the Big Island of Hawaii. Many people go to France or Italy to taste wine – “I taste honey”- Vic says.

Q: What is the most interesting thing your customers have used your honey for?
A: A longtime customer of ours mentioned she uses our honey as eye drops to help improve her eyesight. I was happy to know this helped her, but I personally do not recommend it.

Q: Why should I buy local honey?
A: Not only does buying local honey help support the local community, but you also know exactly where your honey is produced! The local honey may help you to build up immunity to the pollen of the local flora, thereby reducing seasonal allergy symptoms.

Q: What is your most memorable hive relocation?
A: About 5 years ago, I received a call from a distressed homeowner stating that honey was dripping from their ceiling. When I arrived, I could not believe it, I could hear the walls buzzing! To my excitement, I found a massive hive filled with thousands of bees and fresh honey. After much searching, I was able to locate the Queen and moved the colony to a new location, and provided the homeowners with their very own honey.
